The Force Awakens – Expectations

Yes!!! Today I am going to see the Force Awakens. What an awesome movie it’s going to be-I have no doubts. But that sure doesn’t mean that I won’t have any expectations.

So first of all, I want to see good special effects. I know that LucasFilm promised to mostly use practical effects, but let’s make sure that they still keep up to date with the technology of today. I really suggest watching the ComicCon behind the scenes video. They really show a lot of REAL explosions REAL ships and a REAListic Chewbacca mask. That makes me happy and I sure hope that we will get to see all of that in the movie. Oh, and here’s the video I was talking about:

I wouldn’t describe it better. “Nothing has changed, but everything has changed”. Onto our next one, I want a good story filled with twists and turns along the way. Many peoples’ jaws dropped when it turned out that Vader was Luke’s father, and I am hoping for the same effect within the sequel trilogy. And a few unexpected turns in this specific movie would be quite nice too.

My next expectation is that they actually show the time that has passed since The Return of the Jedi. It’s been 3 decades, so a lot must have happened to the characters and to the galaxy far, far away.

Talking about the galaxy far, far away, my next one is that they do include the glorious intro that has been before every single Star Wars movie so far in the saga. Why shouldn’t they include it in the new movie? Sure, it looks a bit archaic, but as the quote of the century goes “We want nothing to change, but everything to change.” Seriously, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you better watch that BTS video.

Anyway, those were some of my expectations for the Force Awakens. I would love to hear about yours. But until tomorrow, do NOT spoil the movie for me! I hope that you enjoyed this pie and make sure that you check back tomorrow, as I will be giving you my thoughts on the film.
