Captain America: Civil War – My Thoughts

There will be spoilers ahead!!! Do not click read more until you have watched the full movie! There will be lots of major spoilers ahead! You have been warned. Proceed at your own risk. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, you can read my spoiler-free review here.

What the hell!?!? Who would have thought?!?!? This movie rocks!!! I cannot bloody wait for the DVD release! I really enjoyed this movie. First of all, the question on everybody’s mind, how is the new Spiderman/Peter Parker? He is amazing! I never really grew attached to the original Spiderman films with Toby Maguire, because I was still very small when they were coming out and my only memories of those movies were watching one of them on TV and watching the other ones absolutely 100% legally with my Dad on the computer. Don’t worry, I don’t do that anymore.

Well, the people who think you do are coming here right now and they’re not planning on taking you alive.

Okay, now, that’s just really creepy. Anyway, let’s get back to the Spiderman. As  said, I don’t feel very emotionally attached to Maguire’s Spiderman (unlike some people) so for me, I think that Tom Holland pulled off the best Spiderman performance we ever got. Not joking. That guy is hilarious!!! And the last thing I could ever hope to get in Civil War were Star War references. And we actually got Star Wars references in this movie.

Hey guys, you ever see that really old movie, Empire Strikes Back? You know those giant walking things?

Actually, now that we’re at it, let’s talk about the airport scene. It is amazing. Honestly, I’m not going to be one of those fat movie critics who tries to find flaws in every scene just for the sake of it. Many people are calling the airport scene, the best battle scene from a comic book/superhero movie that we ever got on-screen. I think they might be right.

What do we do? | We fight!

My only slight “issue” really with this movie was that we got this one reveal that there were multiple Winter Soldiers. that they were making really dramatic, but they weren’t actually very big reveals. But then when I thought about it, this movie actually has a hell a lot of smaller reveals that people don’t talk about very much. For example, the fact that Steve knew all along that Bucky killed Tony’s parents or that Sharon Carter, is related to Peggy Carter

But it was a lot to live up to, which is why I never told anyone we were related.

Now, you may or may not know, that when going into the theater, I was loyal to #TeamCap. But leaving the theater, man, I was fully on #TeamIronMan! I believe that either Joe or Anthony Russo was quoted on saying something along the lines of We want families to be arguing in the car over who should have won when they watch the movie.

Queens!   Brooklyn!

And oh my gosh! Yesterday, when I went to school and half of the boys have seen the movie, we spend our whole break discussing and arguing over who is right and who is wrong. Two of us were on #TeamIronMan and another two boys were #TeamCap. But the scariest thing is that I can never look at Captain America the same way, after what he did in this movie.

Captain, while a great many people see you as a hero, there are some who prefer the word vigilante.

So that’s it for my review of Civil War. I will probably discuss it even more on my next podcast, but that depends on who my next special guest will be. Speaking of my podcast, you can listen to the second episode right here. Also, don’t forget to leave some questions as a comment below or as an email to mikpe120@gmail.com. I will be doing a Q&A soon and everybody who submits a question will get a free shout-out. I also need to apologize that I am a little behind with posting on my blog. This review should have come out a week ago, but It’s coming out today. Sorry.

I retire for 5 minutes and it all goes to s**t!

For now have a Wonderful Wednesday and So Long! 😀
