The newest installment in the MVC video game series has recently been announced. Let’s see what I think!
MARVEL and Capcom have a pretty long history of crossover video games. The first one came out in 1996 and was called X-men vs Street Fighter. The game was originally only released on arcades, although it was later moved over to the Sega Returns as well as the PlayStation. As of today, MARVEL and Capcom characters have fought each other in seven different titles. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out that the series must have been a huge success.
The latest MARVEL vs Capcom game came out in 2012 and was titled MARVEL vs Capcom: Origins. And… then there was a four-year gap. Until a few days ago, when the newest installment in the series has been announced to be MARVEL vs Capcom: Infinite and it’s coming out next year!
Obviously, I haven’t played any of the other MARVEL vs Capcom games, so I’m very excited to give this one a shot. From the trailer, it doesn’t look like anything too special. It’s going to be just a normal fighting game in the style of MARVEL’s Contest of Champions. But the graphics look really good and crossovers are always fun, so I’ll definitely pick it up from Steam if the price isn’t too bad. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be able to justify any more than five Euro on it.
The trailer shows a 2v2 with Ryu and Megaman going up against Captain Marvel and Iron Man. Hopefully, this means that there will be some online multiplayer mode. Anyway, what do you guys think of all this? Let me know in the comments!
