I went to see this movie on Friday (opening weekend, bi***es!!!). Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to write a review, though. Luckily, I did write down some brief notes on my phone and now I can finally share my thoughts with you guys! Oh, and don’t worry. This review will be spoiler-free. I’m gonna wait a bit before I post a spoilery review, just to give all of my readers time to go and watch the movie. However, if you wanna go in to see the movie 100% blind, you should better stay away from this post for now anyway.
The movie has a bit of a slow start, but you forget all about it when we get to the third act. The third act is freaking amazing! I’m not going to talk too much about it, because I don’t want to spoil the experience of all you. It’s probably my number one favourite battle scene in a Star Wars movie. Anyway, let’s talk about the characters. As we all know, they give us a nice squad of characters who go on to steal the Death Star plans. To be 100% honest, they probably should have given us just two or three characters that they would really focus on getting us attached to, but I really cannot complain because every single character is awesome. Actually, maybe Bodhi Rook should have been given more of a backstory, but that’s just me.
You probably all know that Darth Vader is in this movie. He isn’t in this movie much, but that’s a good thing. In this film, we finally she Vader kicking some ass. So far, we’ve only seen him do slow duels with Luke, but we know from Anakin’s battle in Revenge of the Sith that he’s supposed to be amazing at fighting. And in this movie, we finally get to see him really beating people up. I liked that a lot.
I won’t go into any more details because I really want all of you to be able to see this movie and have a good time. Share this post on your social media if you feel like you want other people to know about it. Talking about social media, don’t forget to like me on Facebook and subscribe to me on YouTube. But that’s it from me for now. See Thee Soon!

Yeah the beginning is a little slow but I like the mix of nostalgia and at the same time still have its own tone. I also liked the connections to A New Hope. The last Darth Vader scene is soooo good. I’m def. looking forward to more standalone Star War movies.

Thank you for your comment! It means a lot. I agree that they should totally keep making these standalone films. Its like if A New Hope was the big movie and then Rogue One was the Blue Ray exclusive behind the scenes.
